What is Shopmobility Cookstown?
Shopmobility Cookstown provides powered scooters and manual wheelchairs to members of the public with limited mobility to shop and visit leisure and commercial facilities within the town or shopping centre.
Equipment is available free of charge for daily use and is located at the Burnavon Arts and Cultural Centre, Burn Road, Cookstown. There are 6 disable parking spaces adjacent to the Burnavon Centre providing easy access to the Shopmobility services.
Shopmobility is a Registered Charity No. XT22921
Who can use it?
Shopmobility is for anyone, young or old, whether their disability is temporary or permanent.
It is available for those with injuries, latter stages of pregnancy, long or short-term disabilities – anyone who needs help with mobility. Shopmobility is about the freedom to get around.
You do not need to be registered disabled to use it.
How long can I hire equipment?
Scooters and Wheelchairs are available free of charge for daily use. There are no limits on Long term hire, however, a hire charge is required.
How do I avail of the services?
Simply, call 028 8676 7766 and speak to our Project Manager. Then arrange to call into the Burnavon Arts & Cultural Centre. Complete the membership form and go through a brief induction on the use of the equipment and then off you go!!!
